Ubiquitous Energy, Dark & Scary

dark matter

Scientists have been studying what they have dubbed “dark matter” for decades, which is an epistemological black hole of sorts, because they don’t know what it is, really…it’s a mystery.

This NASA Science – Astrophysics article titled “Dark Energy, Dark Matter” explains how scientists have several ideas about what black matter is not, rather than what it is. And several articles I have read articulate the foregone conclusion that, should we discover what dark matter/dark energy is, it is likely that our common knowledge of gravity and the theory of relativity would be turned upside-down. How’s that for an astrophysical, cosmological quagmire?

Then I discovered a poetry genre grounded in dark matter. I’m not surprised. I don’t think I’ll latch on to this movement, but it did tickle my creative taste buds. Continue reading to see my dark matter haiku. Thanks for visiting, and Happy New Year, y’all.

Dark matter surrounds,

Passes through and embalms us,

Until pure light shines
