George DeLorge

I have never met George, but my co-worker tells me, “He’s a stinker!” She adds, “He won’t go potty outside alone, we have to go out in the cold with him, and he’ll eat just about anything he can get his paws on…he’s a naughty dog!”

Granted, George (pictured below) is still technically a puppy–and a big one at that! And, if you continue reading, you will see for yourself just what a big stinker he really is…also, you will see a haiku I have dedicated to George DeLorge.

Dogs of December

This recent picture of our Australian Shepherd Molly (taken at Harmon Patridge Park) reminds me of all the winters spent playing with her in the snow. She has been our loyal friend for seven years. At age eight, she has a few more winter play days left in her–more great fun to be had! She has lost a step in her elder years, but she’s still fast, powerful, agile, and her heart is as big it ever was! The haiku below is dedicated to Molly Lindsey.

Ohio State Haiku

The Ohio State University fueled the flames of their rivalry with the University of Michigan today in a 42 to 13 gridiron victory in the Big House. In lieu of gloating over this lopsided football match, I’ll merely tell it like it is in the language of the haiku. Better luck next time, Big Blue!
