  1. I can only assume you will block me now that I’ve responded but before I go I ask you humbly for a prayer. David Weber took his own life last weekend. He had many health issues – physical and mental – and simply had no more fight left in him. I’m not a religious person but I send blessings to a person I once knew & cared for. I beg The Lord to finally give him peace. You were good to him. The family appreciates the kindness. Blessings to you and your beautiful family. Dottie

    • No, I won’t block you. I believe we’re connected on X, formerly Twitter as well. Please accept my condolence: I’m so sorry for your loss, and I will pray. Many blessings to you and your family! – dbl.

But I had always hoped he found happiness and peace. Sadly, he was hooked on drugs and doing that stuff in your 60s naturally destroys your health. He had no more fight left and stole a friend’s gun. This tragedy, however, brought me closer to his sister and her now ex-hubby (and my buddy from high school). We all chat often now. We cried together and talked about the good times. We are planning a lunch get-together soon. I am glad you are not angry with me. One of my X profiles was blocked so I guessed I was persona non grata. I am so happy to be wrong about that. There is too much sadness in the world and I want everyone I know and everyone I ever knew to have love and peace in their lives. Your continued happiness brings me joy! May you and yours have a wonderful holiday season! Mike and I are doing well and after losing Mr. Jones (my spirit animal of over 20 years) I rescued a huge fluffy orange ten-year-old cat. Both his humans passed away & he was left at a shelter. We needed each other, I think. Levi brought laughter back into my home. You understand how close we get to our fur babies. Thank you for responding!

        • O happy day! May you and Big Fluffy Orange Cat live with all the vim and vigor life has to offer. I’ll try and find you on X. It’s not like it used to be; I’ll run a search to see if I can find you and Big Orange Fluffy, and I’ll send you pics of my two Aussies.

          Shalom (wholeness, completeness and well-being),

          • Hi! Hope you guys are doing fabulous! I wanted to mention that I was digging through old papers and I found a poem/song you wrote. It was about Bill Clinton and sung to the tune of the 1840 campaign song for William Henry Harrison and John Tyler (Tyler and Tippecanoe). The title is “The New Hero.” I appreciated it very much because you understood my love of American history and combined it with your amazing talent for the written word.

Anyway, if you were interested in seeing it again, I could sent it. I am not really great at technology (I need to borrow a ten year old kid!) but is it possible for me to take a pic of the poem & attach it here some how? It is quite clever and you might find it funny.

PS I saw the pics of your puppies! So adorable. If I had a fence I’d love to have a small dog. But my 18 lb. orange mega-fluff kitty, Levi, rules the roost here.

It has been a stressful 2024. Mike was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer over the summer. I hated to be a jerk but in June I demanded he see a doctor about his increasing health symptoms (in fact, I made the appointment myself) and July 3 he got the bad news. He quit smoking that day. But the good news was that it was caught in time and he only had to do radiation…no chemo. We are going to the hospital in ten days for a PET scan so I have been praying hard that he is doing well.

            Best wishes!

            Dot.

          • Hey Dot,

I don’t know who spookycreater is, either? When you have a website, you get some crazy responses! We are well and happy. I retired in January of 2025 from Covenant Eyes. I have researched three different ideas for Novels, and I may go ahead with one I was working on almost a year ago. Instead, I dusted all of my work off and drafted a chapbook titled “Anam Cara and Selected Poems: A Chapbook.” I hope it will get published in the summer, self published. It has 25 poems in it, and I think it’s pretty good. I’ll begin a novel soon, as soon as I hear whether or not they like my manuscript. I’m sorry to hear about Mike’s cancer. I’ll lift him up in my prayers. Let me know how he is doing. You can reach me at dblindseyjr@gmail.com or text me at (989)627-9915. God bless you! –Donald

          • I haven’t heard from you in a year. I hope you and your family are doing well and enjoying the best life EVER! Mike was diagnosed with throat cancer last July and he fought it like a champ. As of now, it is gone and I continue sending prayers his way to keep his protection strong. Peace to you all!
